Newton Falls center nominated for national historic list
NEWTON FALLS — The village’s community center — one of four former USO buildings still standing in the United States — will be considered for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
Members of the Ohio Historic Site Preservation Advisory Board on Friday unanimously recommended to forward the nomination for the center on East Quarry Street to the Keeper of the National Register of Historic Places, who directs the program for the U.S. Department of Interior.

Council approves forming committee
NEWTON FALLS — Village council by a 4-1 vote Monday approved forming a committee to spend the next three months working with the Newton Falls Historic Preservation Foundation to determine what work needs done at the community center and how much that will cost.

Parks commission at odds with group over future of Newton Falls Community Center
NEWTON FALLS, Ohio (WKBN) – The Parks and Recreation Commission in Newton Falls voted to send a recommendation to council to demolish the old community center. Some in town aren’t happy about it and are working hard to save the facility.
